MEET CHRISTY

With over 20 years of experience in photography, I’ve built a career at the intersection of visual storytelling and education. My work spans both professional practice and the classroom, where I’ve spent years helping students develop not only technical proficiency but also a strong creative voice.

As a Certified Journalism Educator (CJE), I bring a unique perspective that combines journalistic integrity with artistic expression. I believe photography is more than just capturing a moment—it’s about understanding light, emotion, and narrative. Through workshops, classes, and guided experiences like photography walks, I create spaces where photographers of all levels can grow their skills, gain confidence, and connect more deeply with their work.

My teaching style is hands-on, encouraging exploration, curiosity, and real-world application. Whether working with beginners or advanced students, I’m passionate about helping others discover the power of visual storytelling and the impact a single image can make.
